We believe God actually wins
We believe Jesus Christ is the Savior of all people. As God in the flesh, He voluntarily sacrificed His life to free us from slavery to death and sin. Ultimately every person that ever lived will see this truth, call upon Jesus as Lord, and be reconciled to God—but each in his own time. This outcome is not the result of our works, but the relentless love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ, who will win every heart.
This was originally the prevailing view taught by early church leaders. However, centuries of misunderstanding and poor translations have obscured the glorious truth that all people will be freed in the end. We believe this is the true Good News of God’s original message to mankind.
I. One creator
There is only one eternal, uncreated, sovereign God who created and rules over all things, both seen and unseen. He is intelligent, personal, all-knowing, and all-loving. All that exists came into being and continues to exist by His power.
II. One message
The original writings on which modern Bibles are based were divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit.
III. One sacrifice
Christ is the eternal Son of God and the image of the invisible God. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature and identifying completely with mankind, though sinless. His sacrifice on the cross was made to take away the sin of the world. He was raised from the dead after three days with a glorified body.
IV. One mediator
As the only incarnation of God, Jesus is the sole mediator through whom God and man are reconciled. There is no salvation apart from Jesus Christ. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and consummate His redemptive mission.
V. One victor
Jesus will ultimately attain complete victory in reconciling all people to God:
- All of creation is suffering, and awaits delivery from the bondage of corruption that we were unwillingly subjected to (Romans 8:19–22).
- For this reason, the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14).
- God sent Jesus Christ to save the world, not to condemn the world (John 3:17).
- He is the atoning sacrifice not only for our sins, but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2).
- Jesus Christ is making all things new (Revelation 21:5).
- Jesus promised to draw all people to Himself (John 12:32).
- Jesus is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe (1 Timothy 4:10).
- Just as in Adam all die, all will be made alive in Christ; every man in his own order (1 Corinthians 15:22).
- Jesus gave himself as the ransom for all to do God’s will, which is to have all people saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4–6).
- Absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38–39).
- Jesus promised never to turn away anyone who calls on Him (John 6:37).
- All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13).
- At some point in the future, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10–11).
- God will ultimately be All in all (1 Corinthians 15:22–28).
